It's Time For Some Votin'!
Well tomorrow morning, hundreds of millions of Americans will line up, for a ritual they practice every four years (hehe, Jibjab), to show their Patriotism, and exercise their right to choice, free speech and vote.
They'll enter their secret rooms, in order to aid tip the scales in their favor. Whether it be the Republican party, or the Democrat persuasion, they'll opt to make a change for the better (depending on what state you're from anyways).
So, America. Vote. Vote VOTE!

So it's a public holiday.
And I watched Max Payne on Saturday. More on that later.
I love public holidays. No work, the whole house decides to wake up after noon, and there's no complaints over nothing. And it's quiet. Well... When we mean quiet here, we mean "each of us only hear our own noises/music".
So, Max Payne.
I'm positive that in the scripting meetings for the movie they were thinking "Ok guys, what we're going for here, is to make the movie EPIC."
It didn't come out as well as it sounds, but hey, it was pretty good.
When a movie based on a comic/book/game comes out, and my friends are going, one has to have seen the thing it's based on, and one has to have not (creates opinionated balance). I didn't play the game, so I figure either way, I'd be spared some disappointment if it went south. For both parties, it was actually decent.
There were guns, there were girls, and there were bullet-time sequences. Things I figure a Max Payne movie should have. To be honest, it may get a bit confusing if you didn't play the game, but I got it, so you can too.
What pissed me off, was that right at the start of a kick ass gun-battle, they cut for intermission... I think someone did that on purpose. Anyways.
It was action-y, so I guess it served it's purpose. Heck, even the credits were epic... You NEED to see those credits.
So... GO watch it. Or sumn.

On The Road To Rhode Island! (Digi. Over. '09)
Ok, two things. 1, I've got info on my PC (Thanks Andy), 2 and first, DIGITAL OVERLOAD 2009!!!!
Come on... Yeah...
I asked people, and I'll be going next year! It didn't occur to me that I could go until a week after pre-reg... But, hey, I'll be going. I hope the prices are decent this year.
For all who don't know, Digital Overload is a HUGE BYOC LAN party hosted by the writer of the webcomic Ctrl+Alt+Del, and various sponsors (No, Andy is not coming... He's going to nVision...)
This year (2008), they had an exclusive SSBB release tourney, which I figure kicked ass. Next year, I hear things about GoW2... Oh yes.
Apart from the above, I'm looking for ride/room mates, for the Hilton hotel. Tim (CAD artist/DO Co-ordinator) has set up a special deal with the Hilton hotel, where a room (either 1 king size, or 2 regular beds) is $140 per night. I'll be flying in to Rhode Island, but if so inclined, I may fly to Toronto, and catch a greyhound with some other people.
Anyone who is interested in sharing a room with me and lowering hotel costs, contact me at: Kid.Kurrpt@gmail.com. You MUST have "DO Room/Ride" in your subject line, or it'll go straight to SPAM.
Yeah, about the PC...
... Y'know what. That'll stay under-wraps for NOW.
=D

Whipped on the reverse.
Sooo Busy busy weekend.
Shopping, working, etc. etc.
Didn't see the movie (Max Payne comes out next week), Spent the time... Shopping... For computer parts... Online... >.>
But later for that.
I'm now playing this cool little 2d Platformer called Iji...
...
Oh my God, I love this game... I fell in love with it at midway through the first level. It's a simple game made in Gamemaker that is DEEEEEEP, story0wise and gameplay-wise.
Try it.
Now.
My computer. My friend Andy and I were discussing (read: arguing over motherboards) the parts I should buy on my budget, and everything came up to $427, sans monitor, an-...
...
Andy, for the second time, is fired as my tech guy. The $427 does not include the HDD or DVD writer...
I don't get it. My first parts draft was $4350 WITH a monitor... Granted there was no case+PSU... which would have come to... $540. WITH a monitor...
You guys help me out here.
First draft:
MSI 945 Mobo + Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz Prescot = $120
G.Skill 4GB DDR2 800 = $55
XFX GeForce 8600GT 512MB = $80
Seagate Barracuda 250GB HDD = $50
HP DVD Writer = $25
Corsair 450W PSU = $70 (Wait, what?)
Roswell Black computer case = $20
I-inc 17" LCD Monitor = $120 (as of now.)
Total = $540
What I have now...:
Gigabyte ATX Intel Mobo = $65
Intel Pentium D 2.5Ghz CPU + 4GB G.Skill RAM = $140.50 ($30 is the price to pay for an extra CPU core)
Corsair 450W PSU = $70 (...)
Roswell Black computer case = $20
MSI Radeon 3850 512MB + Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 = $132 (... I still don't see it... >.>)
Seagate Barracuda 250GB HDD = $50
HP DVD Writer = $25
I-inc 17" LCD Monitor = $120
For a whopping = $623 which I do NOT HAVE ANDY.
And he keeps reminding me that I'm broke... >.>
Ok, let's try again...

Broken Families and a Hitman
So I've decided to try a 1 Movie-Per-Week thing.
Two weeks ago I saw Tyler Perry's "The Family that Preys".
As per usual with any Tyler Perry drama, it makes you laugh, it makes you sad, and for me, it was a damned good time.
It wasn't the best thing I've seen all year (not mentioning The Dark Knight), but it was crazy funny. Synopsis being; a working class black woman gets help from a rich white woman (They're best friends) for the wedding of her daughter, the daughter is stuck up (for someone who grew up poor), eventually gets a job working in the white woman's multi million dollar construction company, while her husband, is a construction worker of that company.
Scandal ensues.
I'm not going to rate it (not that kind of blog), so I'm going to direct you to the imdb page.
I don't agree with the 3/10 rating, but it got incredibly mixed reviews, but hey, watch it with a friend.
Last week, Bangkok Dangerous...
Was a disappoinment. It's basically your regular hitman movie, with the star (Nicholas Cage) going against hitman rules and getting himself in trouble. Y'know "don't get personal", etc...
It was exciting at times, and the guy's great with numbers, but the Pang Brothers (ever notice these movies are directed by a set of siblings?) didn't do much that we haven't seen before.
Again: imdb.
Enjoy, next week, Max Payne (please don't let me down...)
